THE ROYAL FAMILY’S FAVORITE PERFUMES
“Nothing reveals more about a woman than her choice of scent”. And it’s even more exciting when the woman is part of the royal family. Here’s a list of the favorite perfumes of one of the most famous and influential women of the royal family.
- Queen Elizabeth I, reigning queen 1558-1603
The queen that never left the house without a pile of pearls used a special mixture of musk, damaskwater, rose-water and sugar. By using this scent she tried to cover the smell of sweat caused by her chronic panic attacks. The gardeners Laurie Chetwood and Patrick Collins pblished the recipie in a book at the London’s Royal Horticultural Society and carefully grew the ingedients in roder to recreate the scent which they then sold as an eau de toillete called Elizabeth I.
- Queen Victoria, reigning queen 1837-1901
When the Empress Eugenie Bulgarie introduced her the perfume house Creed, Queen Victoria quickly became a big fan of their scents. The chosen one was the Fleurs de Bulgarie, youthful and classic, made from rear Bulgarian roses with notes of musk, ambergris and bergamot. The perfume is still a top seller today with a price of 149 pounds a bottle.
- Queen Elizabeth II, reigning queen 1952-present
The perfume house Floris couldn’t pin down Queen Elizabeth’s favorite perfume, but they highly suspect White Rose because of its spicy notes of carnation that are Queen’s favorite flowers. For her Jubilee, Floris released the Royal Arms Diamond Edition which is an updated version of the fragrance to celebrate her birth in 1926. Six vintage bottle were made on sale for astounishing 15000 pounds per bottle.

She famously split a little on her wedding dress, an accident that her make-up artist Barabara had to fix in the last moment by suggesting that she held the fabric in her hand, a gesture watched by 750 milion people, and she pulled it off!
- Duchess Catherine, duchess of Cambridge 2011-present
The nation’s sweatheart chooses her style very meticulously, from her dress, her hair and of course her perfume. At surprise to the royal family, she chose White Gardenia Petals, a bouquet of lily, jasmine and gardenia by the birtish brand Iluminium, a perfume hourse that has already won critical acclaim in the world.
